While you were drowning in the mire of your own sin, He pulled you forth and cleansed you unto purity.

While you were buried under the gravestone-weight of your own death, He redeemed your spirit, raising you to new life and fashioning you as a creature anew.

Praise Him for such unhesitating loving kindness for He alone is worthy of such esteem.

We serve a God that will not stay silent. Evilness will be judged and Goodness will be rewarded, we can count on it.

The Jewish people have felt forsaken. Today is International Holocaust Memorial Day, and example of that feeling.

When you talk to people in Israel today or those who are here who have survived the Holocaust, so often their question was, “Where was God when our parents or our uncles were burned in the ovens in Germany? Where was God? Where was God?”

That is a common question that you hear asked by them. And they themselves feel forsaken by God. But, God has promised “You will no longer be called Forsaken.” He will not be silent forever!

It is interesting that three times in the Bible the figure of the potter and the clay are used to describe the sovereignty of God in His relationship with man.

Now, this verse should strike fear in those who do not know the potter! What they need to know is the saving grace of our Lord, Jesus Christ. And His work on the cross for them.

When we are in Christ, we know the potter. Whatever He wants to make of us is the best for us. We must have absolute confidence in the Potter.

My prayer is that we would surrender ourselves to Christ, and trust in God to mold us into what He wants us to be while we are here in earth, and then to dwell with him forever in Heaven. In Jesus Christ’s name, Amen.
