Hello my friends, as Christians, we have the tremendous privilege to be called “God’s own possession.”

Although we were once lost with no identity as a people, we have come to know the excellent mercies of God.

He has brought us together as a holy nation, set apart for His glory.

For we certainly have become property of the almighty King, that we may proclaim His goodness and righteousness to all people.

I Invite You to Pray With Me

Our Heavenly Father, thank you for setting us apart for Your glory. Thank You for Your Son Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. In Jesus Christ’s name, Amen.

Peter does not here assure the believer that he will be free from persecution.

In fact, Jesus warned about coming persecution, Paul experienced it, and Peter himself speaks of persecution later in this epistle.

Rather, he states that no harm will come to those who are eager to do good. Though their body might be injured, they shall be ultimately blessed.

We have a new birth into a living hope that will sustain us while we are in this world. We are not “earth dwellers”, we are simply passing through this earth on our way to eternal life with God.

We must give great thanks to God for the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

My prayer is that we pass the Word of God to those without it, that we would offer to them through Jesus Christ a living hope. In Jesus Christ’s name, Amen.
