11For it hath been declared unto me of you, my brethren, by them which are of the house of Chloe, that there are contentions among you. 12Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ. 13Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?

14I thank God that I baptized none of you, but Crispus and Gaius; 15Lest any should say that I had baptized in mine own name. 16And I baptized also the household of Stephanas: besides, I know not whether I baptized any other. 17For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.

18For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. 19For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. 20Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?

21For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. 22For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom: 23But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;

24But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God. 25Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men. 26For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:

27But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; 28And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:

29That no flesh should glory in his presence. 30But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: 31That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.

Despite man’s incredible faculty for fantasy, even at his loftiest and most creative.

He cannot even begin to conceive the extent of pleasure and glory for which God has prepared for His people.

Rejoice, you redeemed, in the promise of His kingdom eternal!

Good evening friends. Our lives prior to our personal redemption consisted of various backgrounds — some of which were very carnal. Take a look at the list in 1 Corinthians 6:9-10.

Yet as Christians, those are now things of the past and should no longer control us. We have been washed! When we became Christians, we were cleansed of our sins.

Sanctification is the process of setting us apart for God and growing in righteousness. Lastly, we were justified because of Christ’s work and atonement.

Our destination is not eternal bondage of sin and grief, but by the grace of God, we have a heavenly destination. A place of eternal joy and everlasting peace!

I Invite You to Pray with me: Our Heavenly Father, we give thanks for the saving grace of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Praise be to You for Your character God, thank you Father. In Jesus Christ’s name, Amen.

When a farmer plants a seed, and waters it, he really does not make it grow. The miracle of life does that. All the farmer can do is provide the right environment for growth, and trust in the miracle of life. We do the same thing in ministering Jesus to other people.

Some people are frustrated because they want to water when God has called them to plant, or they want to plant when God has called them to water.

Others are frustrated because they want to make the increase happen, when only God can do that. Real fruitfulness in ministry happens when we are peacefully content with what God has called us to do.

Heavenly Father, I pray that You would give us the strength and knowledge to stay patient in You Father. I ask that through the Holy Spirit we would do our part, and let you provide the increase in what we do. I pray we would be content with where You have us Father. In Jesus Christ’s name, Amen.

We are the structure of His building as He resides in our hearts. Yet, we are only His field and building by the grace of God and the sacrifice of His Son Jesus Christ.

The triumph of Christ over death allows us to be used to His glory. After all, to be used of Christ is one of the greatest blessings in the Christian life.

No matter how hard this world will try to corrupt the resurrection of Christ, it cannot reach our hearts. 1 Corinthians 6:14 reminds us that the victory of Christ can never be taken from us

What is important is the true reason behind our celebration, that Christ was resurrected from the dead, making it possible for us to have eternal life, Romans 6:4.

In describing Paul’s work among the Corinthians, he begins with a declaration of grace. He knew that his status as a worker in God’s field, or on God’s building, was based on God’s undeserved favor, not on his own deserving or merit. A great lesson to us all.

It is an exalted thing to be a fellow worker with God. But God doesn’t choose exalted people to do His work. It isn’t anything in them that makes them worthy to be His worker, it is according to the grace of God.

The next time you feel to small to do something big, open your Bible to this verse and take heart in God’s Word.
